Hi,
Great cartoon.

I'm a friend of "Andy in Germany" who said he'd spoken to you a while back about my desperate, (Heaton based) bikeless plight and inability to organise any way forward, and that you might be willing to help me sort something out. He also said a blog comment was probably the best way to contact you.
My e-mail address is the one above and it would be good to hear from you.

Thanks,

Tim

Couldn't the user of this rack simply lower their seat to its lowest position when locking up the bike? Then even using quick releases would be acceptable.

Old blog post here, but just wanted to throw in the comment that bikes with missing front tyres are sometimes the result of the owner taking the front tyre with them, unable to lock it. This is often given as advice, and so people do follow it at times. Not all hope is lost.

This video was pretty helpful. I also used a link http://www.bike-locks.com/article_the_basics_of_locking_a_bike.aspx

There definitively are right and wrong ways to lock your bike using the U-Locks so make sure that you do your research before leaving your bike unprotected. Especially in shadier neighborhoods.

oi! to be fair if he was cycling as normal and got a scratch they would cry see if he had been wearing a helmet we would not have gotten that scratch!!!!

also to be fair i would never ever cycle in downtown london with out my helmet, people who do are insane, yes i know the stats (i dont always wear a helmet) but the traffic is so freaking scary!! once you get out of parliament and the financial district its quite wonderful to be honest but cycling centre london was one of the scariest 30 minutes of my life, seriously.

something needs to be done with lorries to be honest, thats a whole lot of freaking mass with not much visibility.
